Es liegt exponiert an der Spitze der Insel Kungsholmen und weist mit seinem Turm auf das Stadtzentrum. Im Rathaus ist der Sitz der Stadtregierung und des Stadtparlaments. Das Rathaus von Stockholm wurde vom Architekten Ragnar \u00d6stberg entworfen und von 1911 bis 1923 von der Firma Kreuger &amp; Tall gebaut. Der Name r\u00fchrt daher, dass der heutige Saal urspr\u00fcnglich als offener Innenhof, nach dem Vorbild eines italienischen Renaissance-Platzes geplant war, sodass der blaue Himmel sichtbar gewesen w\u00e4re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>W\u00e4hrend der Bauphase kam der Architekt Ragnar \u00d6stberg in den Raum und sah wie das Sonnenlicht auf die Ziegelw\u00e4nde fiel. Daraufhin wollte er die roten Ziegelw\u00e4nde unverputzt lassen und dem Raum einen blauen Anstrich geben. In letzter Sekunde entschloss man sich aber die Ziegelw\u00e4nde so zu belassen wie sie sind. Der Name hatte sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt aber schon eingepr\u00e4gt. Dezember das gro\u00dfe Nobelpreis Bankett f\u00fcr 1300 Teilnehmer, unter ihnen die Nobelpreistr\u00e4ger, Royals und geladene G\u00e4ste, statt. In den Vitrinen im Vorraum sind vielerlei schwedische Auszeichnungen und Orden ausgestellt. Die Fenster an der S\u00fcdseite der Galerie bieten einen herrlichen Blick auf den M\u00e4larsee und S\u00f6dermalm.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An der gegen\u00fcberliegenden Wand ist das Fesko &#8222;Stockholm&#8217;s Shores\u201c . Es wurde von Prinz Eugen, dem j\u00fcngsten Sohn des schwedischen K\u00f6nigs Oskar II gemalt. Er ist mit ca 18 Millionen Mosaiksteinchen geschm\u00fcckt, die den Saal in einem einzigartigen goldenen Licht erscheinen lassen. Die Mosaiksteinchen bestehen aus Blattgold zwischen zwei Glaspl\u00e4ttchen. Mit der Herstellung beauftragte man die Berliner Firma Puhl &amp; Wagner, zur damaligen Zeit das f\u00fchrende Unternehmen f\u00fcr Glasmosaike. An der Stirnwand des Saales prangt die \u201eQueen des M\u00e4laren-Sees\u201c, eine symbolische Darstellung Stockholms, das von Ost und West geehrt wird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es war ganz still geworden unter den Teilnehmern der F\u00fchrung, so beeindruckt zeigten sie sich. Der Rathausturm wurde mit 2,5 Millionen Ziegeln gebaut. Mit einem Gesamtgewicht von 24.000 Tonnen ist er doppelt so schwer, wie der Eiffelturm in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir versammelten uns im mit Arkaden ges\u00e4umten Innenhof des Rathauses. Dort fragte uns unsere F\u00fchrerin Emma, ob wir den Turm zu Fu\u00df 365 Stufen oder mit dem Aufzug besteigen m\u00f6chten. Alle entschieden sich f\u00fcr den Aufzug. Die Statue wurde von den Gebr\u00fcdern Sandberg entworfen und sollte urspr\u00fcnglich in der offenen Turmspitze stehen. Sie liegt 73 m \u00fcber dem Meeresspiegel und f\u00fchrt um den ganzen Turm herum. Jahrhundert das Staatswappen von Schweden. Jede Krone hat einen Durchmesser von 2,2 m, ist 1,1 m hoch und wiegt 70 kg und ist aus vergoldetem Kupfer hergestellt. Sie sind in Richtung der Altstadt, Gamla Stan ausgerichtet, wo einst Stockholms mittelalterliches Schloss stand, bevor es 1697 niederbrannte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Auf dem R\u00fcckweg von der Aussichtsterrasse werfen wir noch einen Blick auf das Holzger\u00fcst des Glockenturms.
