From the mouth of the Mun River, we drive upriver along the Mun before we cross it.

After a short but heavy rain shower, we continue on a four-lane road to the Sirindhorn reservoir. Built in 1971, it serves for electricity generation and irrigation, as well as for recreation. On the water, we see large nets on floating bamboo platforms.

We circumnavigate Ubon Ratchathani and head west. Just before Sisaket, on the right side of the street, there is a huge building that could be a royal palace.

More InformationBut, it turns out to be the first private university of the province Sisaket. The Chulalongkorn University started teaching in 2004.

During the further journey, we experience a beautiful sunset, which dips the country in a golden light.

After dark, we reach Buriram. Although there is only weak ambient lighting, the city conveys a lively impression. As we drive past, we see a bustling market, but there are also many people shopping in the streets.

Then we reach our accommodation for the night, the Hotel Amari Buriram United. It is right next to the i-Mobile Stadium.

Looks like a nice drive and those bamboo platforms look interesting!!
Thank you very much. It is a wonderful area.
The bamboo platforms seem to be common for recreation in Isan, The best ones we have found was on the Huai Krathing Reservoir https://blog.myvideomedia.com/huai-krathing-reservoir-isaan/
A perfect place for lunch
