The falls extend to a total length of 1.7 mi and consist of 275 separate waterfalls and cataracts that fall into the depth of up to 246 ft. The horseshoe-shaped valley opens out into the Devil’s Throat, a narrow and long chasm where most of the water runs through.
From here it is up to 14 mi to the on the border triangle of Argentina – Brazil – Paraguay, the confluence of the Iguazu River with the Paraná River.
