On the day of our journey home, a little snow fell in Bremen, giving the city and the surrounding area a white coating. We traveled by train once again through the North German Plain, reaching Osnabrück and Münster. After Münster, we crossed the Dattel-Hamm Canal near Lünen. Then, we continued on to Dortmund, Bochum, and Essen, and finally, to Duisburg, where we crossed the Rhine.
We reached Bochum, Osterath, Neuss, Dormagen, and finally Cologne on the left bank of the Rhine. There, we crossed the Rhine again.

We continued our journey on the right bank of the Rhine to Troisdorf and Beuel, where we crossed the Rhine again. From there, we catch a glimpse of Bonn. In Troisdorf and after Beuel, we saw the remains of the Ludendorff Bridge, also known as the Remagen Bridge. US soldiers first crossed the Rhine over this bridge in March 1945, shortly before the end of World War II, and established a bridgehead on the right bank of the Rhine

Shortly after Neuwied, we crossed the Rhine one last time to reach Koblenz.
The final leg of the journey follows the left bank of the Moselle through the Moselle Valley, passing through Cochem, Bullay, and Wittlich.
