Oktoberfest Impressions - Munich

The Oktoberfest, the largest festival in the world, takes place annually from late September to the first weekend in October in Munich.

After the Grand Entry of the Oktoberfest Landlords and Breweries and the tapping of the first keg of Oktoberfest beer by the Mayor of Munich the Munich Beer opens with 12 gun salutes from the stairs below the statue of Bavaria.

Every year about 6 million visitors are expected within about 2 weeks.

On the 31 hectares of the fairgrounds the Munich breweries offer seats for 100.000 visitors in their beer halls. In the outside area, 200 showman businesses cater for amusement with about 80 rides. Furthermore you find many booth selling food, drinks and souvenirs.
