The Spitzingsee is approx. 60 km south of the Bavarian provincial capital Munich, nearby the known vacation spot Schliersee.
It is the biggest high-altitude mountain lake of Bavaria and has an area of 69.9 ac. and a maximum depth of 53.5 ft.
