Wattens is an industrial town in Tyrol, Austria. Already in 1559 the first paper mill was founded here. The crystal glass producer Swarovski made the town world famous. Crystal jewelry is not the only business of Swarovski; the company is also a major producer of optical equipment and abrasives.

The multimedia artist André Heller was engaged to design the Swarovski Crystal Worlds for the one-hundred-year anniversary of the company in 1995.
Apart from the greatest artificial crystal of the world the visitor is impressed by unique art works of Salvador Dali, Picasso, Andy Warhol, Brian Eno, Susanne Schmöger and others, embedded in a light and sound environment.
