The steppe animal park Pamhagen in the far eastern corner of the Seewinkel – the region between Neusiedl am See and Hungary – is the home of rare regional species.

One does not often have the opportunity to get so close storks. The Mangalitsa- a Hungarian pig -also called curly-hair hog, was one of the main meat suppliers in the Dual Monarchy of Austria-Hungary. Today it is mainly used for Vulcano ham and Jamón serrano as well as for salami.
