The year-round skiing area on the glacier can be reached using the Kaprun Gletscherbahn with the world’s highest cable car pylon, being 113,6 m (373 ft) tall.
From the observation platform on the roof of the top station in 3.035 m of height you have a spectacular view over the surrounding peaks and valleys.


The skiing area on the glacier is open all year and even on hot summer days it offers a welcome change. Skiing, snowboarding or motorized snow sports including ski-doo offer plenty of fun.
The importance of skiing in Austria highlights the presence of the Federal Ski Academy, a year-round training camp on the mountain.
