Wolves can be observed particularly well in the animal park of Herberstein Castle in Styria in Austria.
Up to 30 wolves share a large area with areas of retreat protected from the eyes of visitors.
During our short visit we could not catch sight of the alpha male, but the No. 2 in the hierarchy appeared and was welcomed subserviently and joyfully.
