Kitzbuehel is well known for the Hahnenkamm race, the toughest downhill race of the world. The first ski race, organized by Franz Reisch, took place already in 1895.
In 1935, the Crown Prince of England preferred the winter sports resort in Kitzbühel, thus making it attractive for the jet set.

Here, the real estate properties are preferably on the shopping list of Russian oligarchs; it is not evident when strolling through the town.

More InformationThe architectural style is strongly influenced by the Bavarian. After the withdrawal of the Romans from Noricum, Kitzbühel became part of Bavaria. 1594, the Bavarian Duke sold Kitzbühel to the Tyrolean sovereigns.
