Badgers are predators and belong to the marten family. The badger (Meles meles) was the wild animal of the year 2010 in Germany and Austria.

Badgers love mixed forests with trees and shrubs. They feed on earthworms, insects and beetles, however they don’t disdain plant food, such as cereals, corn, berries, roots and tubers.

More InformationThe badger constructs large dens, the so-called setts, with several entrances.
As one sees in the video, he has even a private pond. Sometimes he shares the dens with a fox. Even voles live here, though these are occasionally on his diet.
