Our stay in Central Asia comes to an end. We take the high-speed train to Tashkent and spend the night there. The next day we fly back to Germany very early in the morning.
Since 2013, the high-speed train manages the 344 km long route from Samarkand to Tashkent within 2 hours and 8 minutes. The train runs on tracks with Russian gauge.

We reach the modern Samarkand railway station by car. A personal check with security gate and X-ray examination of the baggage is carried out in the lobby.

Inside, the spacious hall offers some shopping possibilities.

We can still enjoy the landscape for about an hour, then darkness falls.

More InformationIt is already at night when we arrive in Tashkent. Shortly after Samarkand, we can see a MAN factory for truck manufacturing.
To a great extent, the country is dry. In areas with artificial irrigation, one cultivates fruit, vegetables, or cotton.

The ride is very comfortable and quiet, so time passes quickly.
