It is November 29th and we just come back to the Central Boutique Angkor Hotel. On the way back from the large temple round in Angkor, where we have visited six temples, it started already to rain lightly, but now the heavy tropical rain is pattering down. We sit on our covered patio outside our room and enjoy the rain.
It has 30 degrees and we are grateful for a little cooling. In the knowledge that after half an hour the sun will shine again, we think about the weather in Germany and have a giggle over the term “bad weather”.

A nice encounter
We still decide to go for dinner. The restaurant La Petite Cuisine appeals to us and we do not regret. The food is excellent.

At the next table sits a couple and I observe interested, how the man skillful draws a fantastic sketch of a temple in Angkor. I ask if I may film it, what he allows me.

We get into a conversation with the two and it turns out that it is Guillaume Bonamy, a well-known French watercolorist, and his wife. Both are very nice and tell us about their life. They have already seen a lot of this world and lived in different places.
Central Boutique Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap
The Central Boutique Angkor Hotel is located in a small side street near the center of Siem Reap. Just around the corner you will find shops and restaurants. It is an oasis of calm after a day of sightseeing in Angkor.

The hotel has two large pools and the courtyard is beautifully planted. You can enjoy your breakfast on an open terrace, that also serves as a restaurant and common room. The staff is very friendly and courteous.

The rooms are clean and have all the necessary technical facilities, including fast internet. The bathroom has a bathtub and separate shower.

The Central Boutique Angkor Hotel has its own shuttle which also has picked us up from the 10 km remote speed boat pier. Outside the entrance are motorcycle rickshaws that transported us, even in the morning at half past four, to Angkor Wat.
