Upon arrival at the Fortune River View Hotel in Nakhon Phanom, it is already dark. So so we cannot judge the location.
But the spacious entrance hall with the front desk astonishes us. We did not expect so much luxury at the north-eastern border of Thailand.
The room also offers much space and it is comfortable and modern furnished. The technical equipment works perfect, including the free WiFi. And the bathroom leaves nothing to be desired.
Actually, we still wanted to go out to eat a little something, but then we discover the terrace high above the Mekong.
We still can recognize the shadows of the mountains of Laos in the darkness. Colored lights reflect in the pool and in the Mekong. We like the atmosphere a lot and decide to finish the evening with a drink and a snack here in the open.
The next morning, we immediately explore the terrace and the pool. In the daylight, we enjoy a beautiful view.
The Laotian mountain range is impressive. Morning fog and wafts of mist float through the landscape, giving it a mysterious character. The sun slowly breaks through the clouds.
