On our outward journey, we had a stopover in Dubai. Thus our Dubai stay is very short. Just enough time to change the plane.
During takeoff, we have a magnificent view of the city of Dubai with the Burj Khalifa. Almost like an island, the tops of the skyscrapers rise from the haze.
We can quite well recognize the old town at the mouth of the Dubai Creek.

We are curious which route the plane will take. There is war in Syria and Iraq is not really pacified. We reach the Iranian coast at Hendijan and can recognize the airport of Omidiyeh shortly after this.
The flight leads along the Iranian-Iraqi border via Kurdistan to the Turkish border in Anatolia.
It is early December and so it is not surprising that the up to 3000 m high mountains are covered with a solid blanket of snow.
We pass Lake Van and fly over the Black Sea. Slowly the darkness falls over the landscape.
We enjoy the beautiful colors of the sunset until we reach to the coast again in Romania. What we can recognize in the darkness are the lights of Bucharest.
The rest of the flight is uneventful and we are glad when we reach our home again.
