Lindos on the island of Rhodes - Greece

Lindos is a town on the island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese, Greece. Most likely it was settled by the Mycenaeans and probably also by the Minoans.

Lindos experienced the first golden age with the Dorians. In the 11th Century BC, Lindos developed quickly into a trading center between Greeks and Phoenicians, not least because of its conveniently located natural port.

The temple on the Acropolis was dedicated to Athena. The most comfortable way to the temple is with the “donkey taxi”. The mighty castle, which still characterizes the sight on the Acropolis, was built by the Knights of St. John at the beginning of the 14th Century.
