More InformationOne of the main attractions of Shanghai is the Bund – 外灘. Most buildings date from the colonial times and were built by Englishmen and Frenchmen for their branch offices at that time. Today, international enterprises, banks and consulates are housed here.

Pudong on the opposite side of the Huangpu River 浦东 新区 with its skyscrapers forms the contrast. Pudong, also known as the New Bund was founded in 1990 as a special economic zone and is now the high-tech and business location of Shanghai.

Impressive is the 468 m high TV tower, the Oriental Pearl Tower- >东方 明珠 塔.
In the evening, the brightly lit group of buildings and Pudong’s skyline are an invitation to take a stroll along the harbor boardwalk. This is where young and old meet to enjoy the light and play of colors.
