The Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum is 500 m north, approximately 7 minutes on foot from the central station in Favoritenstraße. Due to its proximity to the central station, all long-distance connections and every stop in the city and the surrounding area are easily accessible by public transportation.
Nearby are a number of restaurants. The Peruvian restaurant Lima has a beautiful garden where you can eat well on summer evenings.
The hotel’s name includes the term Theresianum. The Theresianum is one of the most renowned educational institutions in Austria. It is also located in Favoritenstraße.
The Theresianum was originally a summer residence of the Habsburgs. Three emperors resided here. Empress Maria Theresa later converted the grounds into an educational institution. Today it includes a kindergarten, an elementary school, and a high school with day care and boarding. The focus is on foreign languages.
Since 1964, it has also housed the Diplomatic Academy, the oldest diplomatic academy in the world.

The rooms are clean and have everything you need for a stay. A rich breakfast buffet is offered. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

We have a room with a balcony on the top floor. This allows us to see part of the city from above.


Looking towards the town hall, we see the so-called BA building on the Getreidemarkt, a building of the Vienna University of Technology. It is the first plus-energy office tower in the world. This means that more energy is generated than is consumed. The walls and roof are equipped with 2000 m² of photovoltaic panels.
