The group was founded in 1968 under the name of Gilles de Retz bagad. In 2000, the name was changed to Bagad de Nantes.

The history of Celtic music shows that the mixing of cultures and is associated with different musical styles.

Bagad de Nantes made use this wealth and expanded the traditional repertoire quite early with modern elements and instruments. This created a successful combination of tradition and modernity.

They perform at many festivals in Brittany (festival interceltique de Lorient, fêtes d’Arvor à Vannes …), as well as abroad ( Ortigueira Festival in Galicia, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Germany …).

In the video you will see Bagad de Nantes at the opening ceremony of the Travel blogger Confernce (TBU) in the inner courtyard of the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany in Nantes, a special event organized by Nantes Tourisme.
