We reach Can Tho at nightfall.
Kim Tho Hotel
Our hotel, the Kim Tho Hotel lies nearby the landing-stage, not far from the muzzle of the Song Can Tho into the Mekong. On the opposite side of the road is a branch of the Vietnamese central bank.
First of all, we go to our room. It is clean and comfortable. From the window, we have a nice view of the bridge over the Mekong.
We intend to go out to eat and find a small restaurant in the Hai Ba Trung street on the bank of the Song Can Tho. From there we have a direct view of a huge statue of Ho Chi Minh.
Afterward, we go back to the hotel because the next morning we have to get up very early.

The floating market of Cai Rang
In Can Tho and in the surrounding area there are many floating markets. The floating market of Cai Rang is largest and most famous in the Mekong Delta. It is 6 km from the center of Can Tho, on the outskirts of Cai Rang in Song Can Tho. The market opens daily from 5:00 to 11:00.
Immediately after sunrise, we set off.
After 30 min by boat, we reach the market. Many boats have gathered here. The market rather makes the impression of a central market at which the goods are distributed to smaller vendors.
The large boats are often away for several days to transport the goods to the market. Very often you see melons and pineapples.
Most boats have a long pole where fruits or vegetables hang off the top. It is the so-called Cay Beo, which shows the buyers already from afar, which goods are sold here.
Floating food stalls move around among the boats to provide the people on the boats as well as the tourists with food.
Some boats easily tell that the owners cannot invest much. There is no money for beauty repairs. Fascinated, we watch the hustle and bustle for two hours before we return to the hotel again.
