Before returning to Germany, we were looking for a hotel near the Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi airport and found the BS Residence Suvarnabhum*. It offers a number of benefits.
The hotel is very well-priced, though everything necessary is available including air conditioning and Wi-Fi connection. A nice pool invites to swim.
The BS Residence Suvarnabhum* is located in the Lat Krabang 30/3 Alley. At the beginning of the street is a small market where we get a tasty dinner. It’s close to the airport which is important to us, as we booked a very early flight. And last but not least, the hotel offers its own shuttle to the airport, which can be used free of charge.
It is already dark when we come back from the market. The trees are decorated with countless strings of lights, which we attribute to the beginning of Advent. This is a mistake.
The next day, our departure date is the 5.12.2015, is the birthday of the Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, also called Rama IX. The decoration is to honor the ruler esteemed by the people. It should become his last birthday, what we did not know at that time.
At the end of our stay in Thailand, we enjoy a drink at the pool of the hotel.
The next morning we arrive early at the airport and complete the check-in formalities. We are always amazed at the huge dimensions of this airport.
We booked a flight with Emirates and fly with an Airbus A380. Its dimensions are also impressive. The A380 is surprisingly quiet in the air, which makes the trip very pleasant.
After takeoff, we quickly reach the open sea and then the Indian subcontinent. But we do not see much of it, as a dense cloud cover covers a large part of the country. When the view is clear again we only recognize relatively dry land.
Again we cross the sea and reach Dubai. During landing, we have a beautiful view of the desert in the vicinity of the city. After landing, we change the plane and continue our flight.
