Once again we take a look at the valley basin of Bulunkul with the lake of the same name and the Yashikul. Although it looks very peaceful here, the decline in glaciers is causing people to worry here.
Here, one lives on the fishing and the animals, which feed themselves with the grass around the Bulunkul. But when the lake disappears, people no longer have a livelihood here. We cross the village of Bulunkul and drive back to the Pamir Highway. Here, too, a last look at the Tuz Kul, then it goes on towards Alichur.
We pass the Sasykkul, another saltwater lake. It is now only 15 km to Alichur. In stoic calmness, our driver Khodaverdi passes the many potholes. The few cyclists and trucks that we meet give only little variety on the way.
Then the first houses of Alichur appear in the distance. The village lies on the banks of a small river that flows into the Yashikul. Alichur is located at about 3880 m above sea level.

We drive along the houses and look for our accommodation. Fortunately, there are some people on the move who we can ask. Past the mosque, we reach our Home Stay.
It is guarded by a yak and a dog. We leave our luggage and take a quick look around. The living and dining room is nicely set, and the hospitable people receive us with WELCOME.
The rooms have western beds and thick carpets. Everything looks very clean. In a corner, we discover a multi-socket adapter. Next to it is a box with a battery. The battery is charged by means of a small photovoltaic panel and the voltage is transferred from 12V to 220V via a converter. We are happy because it is enough to charge all our batteries.
Next to the house is a yurt where guests can stay overnight.
The sanitary facilities meet little enthusiasm. One toilet, and one shower, which consists of a little stove with a bucket of water, must suffice for approx. 20 people.
Back outside, we realize that the yak guards its small cub and is always close by.
