Jardines de Santa Clotilde are historical gardens, which lie picturesquely right on the cliffs of the Costa Brava. They offer a wonderful view above the sea.
The architect and landscape planner Nicola Rubió i Tuduri designed the gardens in spirit of the Catalan Art Nouveau, the Noucentisme, in 1919. He consciously turned away from the prevailing Spanish-Arabic style elements and designed the gardens in the style of the Italian Renaissance. The gardens were restored in 2006.
The terraced park is a place of silence, which allows to escape the tourist bustle of Lloret de Mar. Many interesting viewpoints give a clear view of the coast, the clear water and the beach of Playa de la Boadella. The small sheltered cove allows nudist supporters even bathe naked.
You find shady trees and many fountains and gargoyles provide for a cool air.
Numerous statues and sculptures attract the visitors’ attention.
The Jardines de Santa Clotilde are about 2 km south-west from the center of Lloret de Mar and easy accessible within walking distance or by bus.
