The Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is one of the most beautiful landscapes of China. In 221 BC Emperor Qin Shi Huang built the 20 miles long Lingqu Canal (Magic channel, Ling Qu, soul-channel).
The canal connects the Li River flowing southward with the Xiang River – Xiangjiang – flowing to the north. The Xiang River – a tributary of the Yangtze River – was also used for irrigation.
The journey on the Li River – Part3 takes us from the city of Xingping along the Five Fingers Hill to Yangshuo.
