More InformationDespite the activity of the volcano buildings were also built in the caldera. After a heavy rain, the hot lava can be seen at the slopes of Gunung Batur with the evaporating water.

Center of the elongated street village is the temple Pura Ulun Danu Batur.
The temple, also known as Pura Batur, is the second most important temple on the island of Bali, after Pura Besakih.

A similar street village, as it is typical for Bali, we see on the way from Ubud to Kintamani.
