Prasonisi – Πρασονήσι – is a peninsula that forms the southern end of Rhodes.
The peninsula is crowned by a lighthouse and can be reached by car over a stony bumpy road.

Prasonisi is connected to the mainland only by a 2 km-long sandbar, the isthmus.

On the fringes of the mainland you find restaurants, rental companies and schools for these sports.
In strong winds the isthmus can be flooded completely, then it is not advisable to cross the isthmus, since this has caused already several deaths.
