Minority Culture Show in Spring Theater in Guilin

In Guilin we had the opportunity to see a performance in the Spring Theater.

The dance in this video performed by the Zhuang people is called “The Sing on the land.” The dance praises the nature the beauty of the Li Rivers by means of song and dance. The Zhuang people are known as good dancers.

The Zhuang people -壮族- are one of the most ancient peoples South China and with 16 million people the second largest Chinese ethnic groups and the largest minority ethnic group of China.

They belong to the 56 officially recognized minority ethnic groups in China. In the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region live 12 ethnic groups.
