Travel Massive is a worldwide community connecting travel industry insiders. In many cities, you find subgroups, the so-called Chapter, which among, others organize local events.
Travel Massive Nordic Party
Travel Massive Chapter Stockholm joined forces with Chapters Copenhagen and Helsinki and invited to a communicative Travel Massive Nordic Event in Stockholm. The event is a wonderful opportunity to exchange with other international bloggers in an informal atmosphere and to get to know new bloggers. Of course, we are also pleased to see friends again.
The venue is the privately owned Boutique Hotel Rival* at Mariatorget, in the Maria Södermalm district. We reach Mariatorget by subway and take a walk for the rest of the way. It is a typical Stockholm residential area. You see neighbors playing Boule (Petanque) on the beautifully planted square in front of the Hotel Rival.
Lola Akinmade Åkerström, Chapter Leader Travel Massive Stockholm, makes the final preparations and takes care of the organization.
During the event, we have the opportunity to get to know the hotel during a tour. As it soon turns out, the hotel is something special.
Of course, the physical well-being is also provided. As a finger food, Swedish delicacies are served in Spanish tapas style, generously sponsored by the Spanish Tourism Association, Travel Blog Success, and Geotraveler Media.
The owner of Hotel Rival*, ABBA Member Benny Andersson, welcomes us with a surprise video greeting.
A live DJ spins music all night and Fazer from Finland has sponsored yummy mint chocolate, which we couldn’t resist.
The tour of the Hotel Rival is carried out half-hourly in small groups.
At the tour, we first see a typical room. It has a little balcony and a separated sanitary area. Everything looks very attractive. Especially the young women like the little teddy bear for cuddling.
We continue our tour and reach the restaurant area. Here, the chef gives us information about the delicious specialties; and of course, we can try them.
During our visit, the restaurant was relatively empty since the people prefer to sit on the balcony in summer. A bar area is also available.
Then we go to the cellar. Here is a huge movie theater. Special cinema evenings are organized particularly at weekends. Then also people from remote areas come here, to watch selected films. But also live events take place on the stage. Overnight accommodations are not a problem.
Before the room had 1000 seats but for comfort reasons, one reduced them to about 700.
We return to our friends until it becomes time to go to our hotel.
In the subway, we meet a native New Yorker who has been living in Stockholm for several years. He has taken pictures during the event. In the conversation, we learn that he is actually a musician and has regular appearances.
Our special thanks go to the host Hotel Rival*, Travel Massive and the sponsors for a wonderful evening.
