The weather is not spring-like yet, but it is the time when the global tourism industry meets at the ITB in Berlin.
ITB Berlin is the largest tourism fair and the greatest tourism convention worldwide. Official Partner Country in 2017 is Botswana. More than 120,000 trade visitors and more than 60,000 private visitors meet with 10,000 exhibitors from 187 countries. More than 23,000 participants attend the congress.
The eTravel World segment is gaining in importance every year. At eTravel World, you find the latest online trends related to travel. However, robots also move in the tourism industry.
Many lectures on travel, trends and social media complete the program.
India enjoys growing international popularity. We go to the press conference to inform us about the news.
In comparison with the previous year, the number of foreign tourists has increased by 10.5 per cent in the year 2016. The E visa contributes to this demand by facilitating entry. It can now be applied for from 161 countries.
The latest offer includes luxury train travels by which you can explore the sights of this huge country. With a versatile social program, India Tourism provides insights into the culture and tradition of the country.
As we walk through the halls, we are always fascinated by the great cultural offer of the countries. There is hardly a place on earth where so many cultures meet in a small space.
Our special interest this year is next to India, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The centers of Asian culture along the mythical Silk Road have always fascinated us. And why not even visit the fabulous cities along the trade caravan routes. E.g. Samarkand in Uzbekistan, one of the oldest cities in the world.
At the booth of Kyrgyzstan, we see a traditional Kyrgyz yurt and experience Kyrgyz music.
Of course, a cup of Kymyz must not be missing. Kymyz, fermented mare’s milk, is the national drink of Kyrgyz nomads.
Daniel Noll and Audrey Scott from uncornered market and Stephen Lioy, a well-known travel photographer who has been living in Bishkek for a long time, give a brief introduction to this interesting country. They have years of experience and their descriptions makes us want to go there. And so we leave the ITB Berlin with many new travel inspirations.
