During a break on our ramble through Venice, we met a nice man in a cafe. After he learned that we are travel video bloggers, he offered us a boat tour through Venice by night. Of course, we agreed joyfully.
We arranged a meeting point on Calle Seconda de la Fava at 22.30. At the agreed time, we meet the captain with his boat. We go along the Rio de San Giovanni Laterano, turn into the Rio de S. Lorenzo and reach the pier with its ferry terminals. Then we drive to the Palazzo o de Canonica and go underneath the Bridge of Sighs.
Two more canals lead us to the Oratorio Santa Maria della Salute church. From here we drive along the Rio del Piombo and the Rio de la Fava to the Rialto Bridge.
Via the Rio de la Fava and the Rio de Santa Marina, we return to our starting point. But here we turn north and pass the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo and the Hospital Ospedale Civile SS.
Then the captain brings us back to the ferry terminal where we catch the last ferry to Punta Sabbioni on time.

More InformationThe boat ride through the nocturnal Venice is certainly a highlight, for which we are extremely grateful to the captain. The play of light and shadow, as well as the reflections in the quiet canal water, create a medieval atmosphere, which is almost indescribable.
