After three experience intensive days in the Marina di Venezia and in the surrounding area, we return home. A nice young man drives us to the airport. It turns out that he is the cousin of Ulrike; she was with us the day before in Mauro’s wine bar. He has a summer job at the Marina di Venezia. In an interesting conversation during the journey, we get to know more about the life of an Austrian in Italy.
Once we have checked in and the plane took off, it turns once a 360 ° loop, as if the pilot wants to show us all the scenes of the last few days again.

Both Venice, as well as the Marina di Venezia with the wide beach and Burano are well recognizable. The first major city we see on the mainland is San Dona di Piave and then Ceggia.
Clearly to see is the riverbed of the Tagliamento, one of the last wild rivers in the Alps. The Aeroporto di Rivolto also serves as a point of reference. Once again we see the course of the Tagliamento near Venzone before we cross the Alps, which are covered by a layer of clouds.
The next point of reference is the Inn valley with Kiefersfelden, and afterward Rosenheim.
The forests of Englharting and Anzing appear as a dark plain, in the background, we weakly recognize the Chiemsee before the storage lake near Munich comes into view. Very well recognizable is the Franz Josef Strauss airport of Munich and immediately afterward the airport Ingolstadt Manching.
Also, Ingolstadt with its medieval center let itself be seen from its most beautiful side. Denkendorf and Marktheidenfeld are the next cities we can recognize.
Very nice to see is also Aschaffenburg. Rodgau has an object that looks like a particle accelerator at first glance. However, the research on the map reveals that it is the test center and the test area of Opel in Dudenhofen. Behind the town of Dietzenbach, the Frankfurt airport appears, but we fly past.
We still cross the Rhine and fly a big loop over Wöllstein, Bad Kreuznach, and Sprendlingen before we finally land at the airport.
Pin it for later
Disclosure: The visit was on the invitation of Marina di Venezia in collaboration with Visit Cavallino. Many thanks to Massimo Battaglio and Miki Barone! All impressions and opinions are our own.
